I enjoy listening to Michael Savage because I had
the same upbringing, that Michael had. Iknow and feel that we know each other and crossed paths in our lives. I was born in
the Bronx and lived on Bryant Ave, which is just around the corner from Longfellow Ave, where Michael lived. My Mother and
Father were Russian Immigrants.They came to United States, went to school became citizens. My full name is Irving grossberg.
I attended P.S. 66, Herman Ridder JR. High School and James Monroe High school. I played stick ball on, Bryant Ave, Longfellow
Ave and Vyse Ave. My Parents had a Bakery on Hoe Ave and on top of Feeman street hill. I went shopping on Jenning's street
to buy kosher Pickles at Jake's Pickle Stand. The Lady liked me or Felt sorry for me.She filled my Jar up to the top. No matter
what size the Jar was, she charged me a nickle. Those were the days, and I will never foget them. So you see Michael and Irving
understand each other.We were cut from the same piece of cloth. I hope that I can meet Michalsome day, or at least keep in
touch. All my friends are gone now and I wish that Michael and I can become friends. They don't make friends like The Bronx
boy's any more. This would be a Mitsvah for me, which we all need now in our lives. Please keep in touch, The name of our

I am presently absorbed by Savages book,TRICKLE UP
POVERTY. Chapter 4 has a glaring error i will attempt to correct. Dr. Savage writes that "card check" is an affront to democracy
by eliminating secret ballots in union elections. I can speak only about the United Auto Worker's attempt (by invitation of
employees) to represent workers at the J.I.Case facility in Wausau, Wisconsin 20+ years ago. The first organizing drive during
my employment with the Case Co. took place in the early to mid 70's. The card count was high enough to permit the UAW to conduct
an election. No 'union goons' were on company property at any time during this voting process. All votes were cast by secret
ballot. The UAW got only 25% of the votes. Some three or more years later, there was another attempt to organize, with identical
results. As soon as the union was again eligible to try again, they did. The company said if the card count was high enough
to allow another election, they would allow the union to represent the Wausau employees. Even the workers who were dead set
against unionizig, gladly accepted the benefits that came with a FAIR, ratified contract. |
